Renée A. Fox, President + Co-Founder

Renée A. Fox is an artist, community organizer and co-founder of Inglewood Open Studios. Born in Frederick, MD, she received her BFA from Otis College of Fine Art and Design in Los Angeles, CA in 2002 and has since lived and worked in Inglewood.

Joyce Dallal, Secretary

Joyce Dallal is the recipient of several grants and fellowships, among them a National Endowment for the Arts Regional Arts Fellowship in Photography, a Brody Arts Fellowship, and a City of LA Individual Artist Fellowship. Joyce, who works out of her studio in Inglewood, has exhibited both nationally and internationally. Her temporary and permanent public art projects have been commissioned by the City of Pasadena, the LA International Airport, the LA Public Libraries, the Community Redevelopment Agency, and the LA Department of Cultural Affairs. She received her Masters in Fine Art from USC and recently retired from El Camino College in Southern California, where she taught for 30 years.

Jenny Eisenpresser

Jenny Eisenpresser is an artist originally from New York City. She worked for many years commercially, specializing in book cover design at Random House, museum exhibition signage, and illustration. She earned a BFA and BA from Cornell University in 1990. Jenny completed her MFA degree at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California in 2018. She exhibits her paintings and installations while maintaining her art and writing practice in her studio in Inglewood, California.

Jorge Gomez

Jorge Gomez is a brand designer and graffiti writer born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, México. His family migrated to Inglewood, CA when he was a year old. He produces work under his company The Money Studio, where they focus on branding for BIPOC – owned businesses. The Money Studio encourages brands to convey their stories and preserve their culture.

Jorge has produced murals located throughout Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, and Valle de Guadalupe. His murals aim to connect directly with the environment. As a designer, he understands that your message must be clear and honor the local heritage of the people living within those communities.

 

Holly Tempo, Advisory Board

Holly Tempo, known for her paintings and site-specific works, has shown and lectured extensively in the US and internationally over the past 30 years. The artist is a recipient of a COLA Master Artist Fellowship from the City of Los Angeles, a fellowship from the Pollock-Krasner Foundation, and a Change, Inc. grant. Her work is in several public and private collections, including the California African American Museum and Brown University. She has done public art projects in Inglewood and Los Angeles. Holly lived and maintained a studio in Inglewood for over a decade before relocating to Portugal, where she continues to engage with the Inglewood community in addition to the international art world.

Adwin David Brown, Advisory Board

Adwin David Brown is a multimedia artist-teacher who grew up flowin’ in The Wood. A graduate of Loyola Marymount University, he is a Billboard Top recording artist (Bluezeum), the author of Meanderflow, and the founder of Flowskool a creativedgeYOUcation experience helping individuals and organizations find and follow their Flow.

Christopher L. Mercier, Advisory Board

Christopher L. Mercier, AIA is the president and founder of Inglewood-based (fer) studio - form, environment, research, a leading architecture, interiors and urban design practice specializing in Iconic Trans-relational designed environments. Chris brings a unique perspective to the IOS Board being both a practicing registered architect and professional artist as well as an Inglewood resident and business owner.

Kali Nikitas, Advisory Board

Kali Nikitas is a trained graphic designer and an academic administrator. Currently, she is the Chair of Graphic Design, Illustration and the MFA Graphic Design Programs at Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles. Her design studio has morphed from traditional to unconventional as she has moved from making objects to designing events and happenings and calling herself a “Curator of Moments.” Kali currently serves on the CalArts Alumni Council and previously served as the Arts Commissioner at Large for the City of Inglewood.

Minna Philips, Advisory Board

Minna Philips is a contemporary artist from India, based in Inglewood. Her works have been exhibited locally, nationally, and internationally. She previously worked as the Senior Staff Assistant for the Drawings Department at the Getty Museum, and before that as Education Coordinator at VisArts in Rockville, Maryland.
