Our Vision

Inglewood Open Studios creates a vibrant and inclusive arts community that celebrates and elevates the diverse voices and perspectives of local artists. We provide a platform for artists to showcase their work and connect with peers and new audiences while fostering a sense of community and support among local creatives.
Through our programs, events, and initiatives, we bring the arts to the forefront of the Inglewood community. We create opportunities for engagement and growth for artists of all backgrounds and skill levels, including youth. We forge alliances with local institutions, schools, and arts organizations. We believe that everyone should have access to the arts, and that art has the power to bring people together, inspire dialogue, and drive positive change in our community.
Our goal is to create a thriving and dynamic arts scene in Inglewood, where artists can flourish and share their talents with the world. We are committed to promoting diversity and equity, and to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment where all artists feel supported and valued.

At Inglewood Open Studios, we are dedicated to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in all of our programs and initiatives. As a non-profit based in a BIPOC community, we understand the importance of representation and visibility for underrepresented voices in the arts. We believe that everyone should have access to opportunities for creative expression and growth, regardless of their background or identity.
Through our programs, we strive to create a safe and welcoming space for all participants, where diversity is celebrated and differences are valued. We actively work to address systemic barriers and biases, and are committed to providing equitable resources and support to all members of our community.
Our goal is to create a more just and inclusive world, where all individuals have the opportunity to share their unique perspectives and stories through the arts. We are proud to be part of a vibrant and diverse community, and are committed to doing our part to support and amplify the voices of those who have been historically marginalized.
To provide informed, authentic leadership for cultural equity, IOS:
Recognizes diversity, equity and inclusion as connected to our mission and critical to ensure the well-being of our board, volunteers, local artists and our entire community.
Advocates for and supports thinking at the board-level about how systemic inequities impact our organization’s work, and how best to address it in a way that is consistent with our mission.
Commits time and resources to develop a diverse leadership within our board, volunteers and committees.
Pools resources and expands offerings for underrepresented artists with a meaningful connection to Inglewood.
Connects with other arts organizations committed to diversity, equity and inclusion efforts.
Works with local schools to provide art exposure for local youth, specifically with public schools that are lacking in arts education opportunities.
