INGLEWOOD OPEN STUDIOS
Big Ideas, Real Impact.
As Inglewood prepares for the global spotlight of FIFA (2026), the Super Bowl (2027), and the LA28 Olympics, Inglewood Open Studios (IOS) is launching a landmark mural initiative to showcase our city’s rich cultural legacy.
The Global Village Murals will serve as a premier visual gateway at the high-traffic intersection of Market Street and Manchester Blvd. Positioned directly beneath the "Sports and Entertainment" digital billboard, this project will transform three prominent commercial buildings into historic canvases that celebrate Inglewood’s vibrant identity.
To bring this vision to life, we have called upon our "Grand Griots." In West African tradition, the Griot is the keeper of history and the weaver of community stories. As our lead muralists, these Grand Griots are tasked with translating Inglewood’s soul into a permanent landmark. By looking back at our foundations, they help us see the way forward.
