2026 IOS Willie Stoffer Visual Artist Grant

Artists living or working in the city of Inglewood, or with a significant tie to the city, who maintain a professional visual art practice. Collaboratives may apply using one application. Current students and IOS Board members, past or present, are not eligible to apply. Artists must be a member of Inglewood Open Studios.

Inglewood Open Studios will award up to 4 grants for the 2026–27 school year of $1,800 each. The award is distributed in two installments: $900 on receiving the grant to support the artist's creative practice, and the remaining 50% on completing the arts workshop and submitting a final report to IOS. IOS covers the cost of workshop art supplies up to $300.

Selected artists give a talk about their work and conduct a related arts workshop at an Inglewood school or youth organization. School workshops are expected to occur during January–March 2027, Monday to Friday between 8am and 3:15pm. Typically 3 sessions of 1.5 hours each are required to complete a project, and applicants must commit to working within this schedule.

Applications are judged by a panel of three consisting of an IOS Community Partner, at least one outside arts professional and an educator. Decisions are based on submitted work samples, statement of interest, artist statement, and resume. Previous teaching experience is not required.

The submission deadline is October 25, 2026 at 11:45pm. Awards are announced in November 2026.
